 Let’s Declutter!

excused, clutter, declutter

You Are Excused You Old Bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I am talking about you you old worn out leather bag!  Why have I kept you all these years?  You were my favorite back in the day, but now?  Hmm… maybe I guess, your haggard, miss-shaped, faded carcass will be fabulous again one day.  I’m not sure why I have kept you around, I mean it’s not like I have used you for over a year.  Besides, you were a knock-off anyway.

And you!!!! You tattered old blanket hiding in the closet?  Nobody likes you!!  The only reason I have kept you around was in case of a blizzard here in Mississippi.  But you really are not that warm!  And those hideous lint balls stuck to you.  I would be embarrassed to donate you to the thrift store.  You are disgusting and are now excused from taking up valuable space in my linen closet!

Oh, I see you over there getting all in a wad, you old fitted sheet with a hole in it.  It never fails that I forget about your horrid hole until I crawl into bed only to snag my toe on it!!!!!!  Get out!!!!  You are excused….I will no longer be entangled by you.

Wait, what’s in that box up there?  Oh no you didn’t!  I know your mother-in-law gave it to you.  What?  You put it out right before she comes over?  Really?  Chicken!

And we wonder how we accumulate so much stuff.  We all do it.  Some clutter has been a part of our family for so long that we no longer see it.  We have stuffed, stashed and stacked our closets to the breaking point with items that we don’t even know are there.

If you do not have room for all of your belongings then you have 2 choices, move to a larger house, or purge what you do not use or need.

I challenge you to walk around your house and look at it through the eyes of a detective.  Look for those things that lurk in the shadows of your closets and drawers.  Go ahead and talk to them just as I have.  After all ,you have made all this stuff apart of the family! Right?

Now, put on your big girl panties and start excusing things from your home even if your mother-in-law did give it to you.  Be like the Donald and walk around your house saying “You’re Fired.”

What is your excuse not to say “You’re Excused?”

Just like a judge would say to a witness “you are excused.”  Now it’s time for you to be the Judge!!!!  I feel like Flip Wilson when I say “Here comes the judge!”

Take back your home or claim it for the first time in your life.  Finding all of the things that need to be excused from your home will make you feel so much better.

Let us know what you excused from your home!
