Organizing Your Boots
Is your closet relatively organized with the exception of your winter and dress boots littering the floor? Let’s face it, it is hard to make your floppy, over sized boots look neat and organized. If you do not save the boxes due to lack of space, this is the perfect solution for you.
Here are some relatively inexpensive ways to care for your boots that also allows you to put them away in an organized fashion.
Slack hangers work best when hanging your dress boots. The long bar helps prevent leaving unattractive marks in the leather or fabrick.
Another great idea from Martha Stewart.com is using the wooden boot trees, slightly modified to hang your boots.
Homemade hangers preserve the shape of tall boots and maximize space. They’re created by replacing the knobs on cedar boot trees with large cup hooks, which are screwed into the tops. The trees and boots then hang from a cafe-curtain rod.
I love this!!!
Add a tension rod below your clothing at the bottom of your closet and claim that unused space.
Whatever your closet situation is, I am sure one of these two ideas will inspire you to get your boots off of the floor while preserving the look and shape of all of your boots your boots.
This idea can also be used in mud rooms. This time of year, especially if you live in a cold climate, rain and snow boots tend to collect by the door. By hanging your boots, it will allow them to dry faster.
Keep this by your back door for dry and toasty boots & gloves:
Here is one of the wrong ways to hang your boots:
The clips on these hangers can damage and permanently dent your boots. So make sure you use the proper hangers.
Happy Organizing Your Boots!

Hey Jackie, Wow 40 pairs? Hopefully this will help you get them more organized. Thanks for commenting!
Hi Francene, Thank you for your comment. Not everyone has a collection of boots, I only have a couple of pairs myself. But it is nice to know there is a way to store them. It makes my closet so much neater.
Sophie, I hope this helps you get them organized. It will make you feel better plus it will keep your boots looking nicer for longer. 🙂
I love the idea of the boot hangers! All mine seem to be chucked at the bottom of my wardrobe! Whoops!
I like your methods of hanging boots. I only have one pair. I bought them 24 years ago and they’re still OK. Maybe the fur lining holds the tops firm. I must admit to hardly ever wearing them.
Amazing ideas. I love shoes and boots. I have over 40 pairs!!!!
What an AWESOME idea for storing boots!! I don’t have a need for it right now, but I hope some day my children will all have boots for riding… then, I’ll use THIS! 🙂
