Custom Barbie Furniture
Now that Christmas is over, I wanted to share with you some of the pictures of the custom Barbie furniture that I made for my granddaughters. The store bought Barbie furniture is never to scale for the dolls. I like to make things look realistic, so my Barbie furniture is true to scale for Barbie.
They were a lot of work, but a huge hit with the girls, so every minute was worth it. I burned myself with the glue gun so many times, I no longer have finger prints. lol
The neat things about my Barbie furniture are the pillows on the couch are permanently attached so they don’t get lost and the couch is always pretty and the bedspread and sheets are also attached at the foot of the bed. The covers can be pulled back, but not removed. No lost bedspreads and linens here!
Hopefully you will enjoy the pictures and be inspired to make a set of Barbie furniture yourself. If not, I might consider selling them. I haven’t made up my mind on that one yet. You can find the mini chest of drawers at just about any craft shop. And the coffee tables are little wooden trunks that are found in the same section as the chests. The mini Christmas trees and mini ornaments are easy to find around this time of year. We even found light up necklaces and strand them around their trees so they would have lights. 😆
One of the reasons I wrote the novel “Small Wonders” is because I wanted to bring to life, real little people to enjoy these comfy luxuries. Read about it here.

Do you have instructions for the barbie dining chairs. In one of the pictures it shows the start of the chairs in cardboard with duct tape around the base of the chair. Another shows the chair finished with pink fabric and bow. I would like to make some for my granddaughter. I would appreciate your help. Thanks so much. Mary Hermann
Hi Anitia. Thank you or inquiring about my Barbie furniture. I am in the process of shooting step by step DIY videos for each of the pieces. I went this route due to the fact that it was difficult to price the sets due to the time involved in making them.
