Why not? It happens all the time in fairy tales! Sometimes, there are even cute little animals that come and help with the housework, all the while singing and whistling as they work.
Cinderella has happy little blue birds make her bed every morning as she sings to them. Why are the little birds so eager to do this for Cinderella, without her even asking?
Even though Cinderella’s living quarters are humble to say the least, she takes pride in her little space. All of her little helpers can’t wait for her to wake up every morning, just so they can assist her with her chores.
And then there is Snow White. She has all the furry animals in the forest helping her with housework too!

Only In Our dreams!!! Right?
Dreaming doesn’t get the job done, but what if we hijacked our kid’s imaginations and used these fairy tales to inspire them to make housework fun?
I was inspired by this the other day, after a day of swimming at my house, my daughter announced to her two girls (ages 6 & 10) that they were going home to play Cinderella.
Little did I know, this meant they were going home to do housework. 😆 I was impressed with how creative my daughter was when it came to getting her girls to help.
They each have their own designated chores while incorporating fairy tales to make it more fun.
I have to admit, even at my age, if I imagined little blue birds helping me make my bed, I just might smile while I am doing it!
Let your little girl wear her princess dress while she helps. Your son, can dress like his favorite super hero!

Yay! I really liked this post! If you can get kids to have a little fun doing housework, you’ve won that battle!
