I don’t usually blog about controversial topics, but Paula Deen has my support.  My heart hurts for her and her family.  She started building an empire out of selling sandwiches, in which her son’s delivered ridding their bikes.  When Paula came on the Food Network scene, she proudly brought with her the South!  With her authentic Southern charm, who can resist Paula Dean, with ya’ll & hey now, and her love for butter?

It is sad the very networks, sponsors & retail outlets, who have made millions from this Southern Bell, would turn their backs on her.  The ironic thing is, I have no doubt the aforementioned sponsors  have said the “N” word at some point in their lives.  They promote organizations and sell products that offend people everyday.

Now, this is the part that angers me, if and I mean “IF” Paula was gay, she would not have been dropped and would have been forgiven for her slip of the tongue TWENTY SEVEN YEARS AGO, and they would be standing beside her like a hot dog bun!  Ya’ll know that is true.

I am not trying to offend anyone with my words, but fair is fair.  Paula did not deserve this!  I  pray that she rises up from this, stronger than ever.  She could start her own network!  Oprah did!!!

Nobody deserves to be treated this way.  There should be a statute of limitations of things we did or said in our past.  Laud a mercy, I wouldn’t want my past to become public.

To be perfectly clear, I am not a racist.  I have two beautiful, biracial granddaughters that put the air in  my lungs and fill my heart.  So yes, I have black people that I love in my family.  We never use the “N” word, point blank it is forbidden in my home.  But I am not going to sit here and lie to you and say that I have NEVER used the “N” word in the past.

Paula Deen did not lie either.  She could have easily lied and this would have never happened.  She chose to tell the truth!
