organizing Under The Kitchen Sink

Under the kitchen sink, unfortunately is that forgotten space can get really gross!  There are some simple products and strategies to get this cabinet clean, organized and ready for inspection.

You know what I am going to say…clear out the cabinet first.  Sort your items into your bins.   See topic: ORGANIZING BASICS

Under the kitchen sink should only be used for items pertaining to cleaning, such as dish washing and kitchen cleaning supplies, scrubbers, etc.  Try to avoid using this space for “all” of your household cleaning products. Remember to have child safety locks on any cabinet that houses cleaning productsUnder The Kitchen Sink and chemicals.  It is also very important that all of your chemical’s be properly labeled.  See why I love using my label maker: A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

Once the space is empty, clean it inside and out.  Wash down the pipes as well.  Check and make sure that your pipes are not leaking.  If they are, get them fixed because this breeds bacteria and makes the space yucky.Under The Kitchen Sink

Tip:  For your brush scrubbers and sponges, store them in the dish washer.  They get washed with every cycle and are always clean when you need them.  Good huh?

Now here is a link for  Under the sink organizationUnder The Kitchen Sink.  Don’t forget you can use these under bathroom sinks too.

Now sort like items together using the  “front and center” method see :PANTRY.  This allows you to see what is there without digging.  If your cleaning supplies are large, try using small containers in this space that you can refill as needed.

I hope this post helps you to make under the kitchen sink cleaner and more organized.
